Prairieland Ag Inc (PAI) and Prairieland Ag LLC (PALLC) support independent retail agronomy centers through procurement representation, agricultural consulting expertise, and specialty product distribution.
Since 1996, Prairieland Ag has focused on strengthening locally owned agronomy operations by combining purchasing strength, strategic relationships, and industry experience.
Prairieland Ag Inc was formed in July 1996 when Ray Kotchian brought together 12 locally owned cooperatives in the Red River Valley of North Dakota and Minnesota to purchase fertilizer collectively. The goal was simple: create strength through collaboration.

In 2005, Prairieland Ag Inc and Midwest Fertilizer united to form the Prairieland Ag crop protection division, expanding services and supplier relationships.
In 2017, PAI merged with Midwest Fertilizer and the Gades Group, extending coverage throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.
In February 2018, Prairieland Ag LLC was formed to manage the growing crop protection group and the expanding micronutrient and specialty products distribution business.
Today, Prairieland Ag represents a strong regional network of independent retail agronomy centers committed to long-term sustainability and operational success.
The primary objective of Prairieland Ag Inc is to represent members in all aspects of building successful and sustainable retail agronomy operations.
Through long-term relationships with manufacturers and distributors, we work to streamline the supply chain for the benefit of our members and the broader industry. Our procurement model allows independent retailers to remain competitive while maintaining flexibility and local ownership.

In addition to procurement representation, Prairieland Ag provides agricultural consulting support grounded in decades of experience in the ag inputs market.
Our team brings over 275 combined years of experience across wholesale and retail agricultural inputs. This expertise allows us to guide members in operational strategy, supplier coordination, and long-term business planning.
We understand the realities of retail agronomy and provide practical, experience-driven insight to support member success.

Prairieland Ag LLC coordinates the distribution of quality agricultural input products across our geography. This includes micronutrients and specialty products that add measurable value for members and their grower customers.
